Meet The Candidates
We are a slate of Republican, Democrat, and Independent candidates running together for Wrightsville Borough Council. Though our political affiliations differ, we share one belief: neighbors come before politics. Together, we’re committed to open, collaborative leadership that puts our community first and builds a stronger future for Wrightsville.

Cora Rowe
Born and raised in Wrightsville, I’m proud to be the oldest of four and the only daughter in my family. After leaving Wrightsville to marry and raise my daughter, I built a long and rewarding career—spending 11 years at Grinnell Corporation in Columbia and 31 years at Harley-Davidson in York. At Harley, I served on the Community Services Committee, where I helped connect employees with support agencies, raised funds for local nonprofits, and organized community projects. One of our most impactful efforts each year was leading the United Way Campaign for employees. I also contributed through the Open House Committee, welcoming families and strengthening community ties.

I returned home to Wrightsville in 1991, drawn back by the small-town spirit and the close-knit community I’ve always cherished. For 18 years, I cared for my father here, which deepened my appreciation for neighbors looking out for one another. Today, I’m proud to be a member of the Rotary Club, where I help raise funds to support local nonprofits and invest in students across our school district. I also volunteer with the Friends of Kreutz Creek Library, working to secure donations for their annual auction.

I love Wrightsville and believe in its potential. By serving on Borough Council, I hope to give back to the community that has given me so much and help make our town the best it can be—for all of us.

Karen Oster
As a lifelong Republican, I am proud to be part of a tri-partisan slate with Democratic and Independent candidates, because I believe our community is strongest when we put Neighbors Over Politics.

I’ve called Wrightsville home since 1990. I grew up on Meadow Lane, where my parents, Larry and Jolene Fisher, still live in my childhood home. Wrightsville is where I raised my three sons and it remains at the heart of my life and values.

With more than 30 years of management experience in budget oversight, project execution, and negotiations, I bring skills that will serve our Borough Council well. I currently work as a Logistics Manager in the automotive sector for a local manufacturing company, where I focus on efficiency, accountability, and problem-solving.
Wrightsville deserves a council that listens, collaborates, and works for the good of all residents. I am committed to building common ground, driving positive change, and helping our town thrive. Together, we can ensure a strong, vibrant future for Wrightsville.

Joseph Moore
I’ve called Wrightsville home for nearly 20 years. Originally from a small town in the Midwest, I’ve also lived in larger cities like Jacksonville and traveled across the country before choosing to settle here. Wrightsville’s small-town character and strong sense of community are what drew me in—and what I want to help preserve and strengthen.

Throughout my career, I’ve taken many paths, but leadership has always been at the center. At Harley-Davidson, I trained extensively in leadership skills and disciplines, later expanding that experience in the IT field. This journey of continuous learning has equipped me with a strong foundation in critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving—skills I believe are essential for Borough Council.

As a registered Independent, I believe in choosing what is right over political agendas. I don’t want to be a politician—I want to be a leader. Leaders bring people together, empower them, and help communities grow in the ways that matter most to residents.

For me, serving on Borough Council means listening to the people of Wrightsville, fostering collaboration, and working with neighbors to build on the small-town beauty that makes this borough so special. Together, we can strengthen our community and create a future we’re proud to share.

I believe Wrightsville deserves a council that truly listens, respects its residents, and puts neighbors first—always.

I’ve worn many hats—retail worker, server, auto mechanic, admin assistant, tax preparer, and analyst in affordable housing. Each role strengthened my work ethic, empathy, and problem-solving skills. I’m now pursuing a degree in Energy and Sustainability Policy at Penn State, driven by a passion for building cleaner, more resilient communities.

Wrightsville is where I chose to plant roots, drawn by the river, historic homes, and small-town spirit. I come from a family of educators, military Veterans, firefighters, and tradespeople who believed in service, teamwork, and responsibility—values that continue to guide me.

I’ve carried those values into my own service. I founded and directed a volunteer-based animal rescue, and I’m proud to serve with Rotary and the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper.

I believe in a community-first council—free of self-interest and open to every voice. Wrightsville deserves transparent leadership focused on building a strong future together.

My priorities include:
-
Revitalizing “Main Street” and supporting small businesses
-
Strengthening infrastructure, housing, and public safety
-
Tackling traffic and quality-of-life issues
-
Supporting events that bring neighbors together
-
Collaborating with neighboring towns for regional growth
-
Welcoming new families and securing a brighter tomorrow
Together, we can build on Wrightsville’s strengths and ensure it thrives for generations to come.
